Add or remove a Sky channel for VodafoneTV

I'm an existing My Sky HDi subscriber who also has a Telstraclear (Vodafone) cable connection. Thinking of moving to one of the new Vodafone UFB (over cable) + Vodafone TV bundles/deals. I'd be interested in the experiences of folk who've already made a similar switch. Before you start

  • VodafoneTV standalone: Adding and removing Sky channels is self-service only via the VodafoneTV Customer Portal
  • VodafoneTV Bundled and Sky with Vodafone: you need to contact our Customer Care or Sales team.

About adding or removing a channel part way through your billing month

Sky Go Vodafone Giga Tv

Subscribing to a channel or package part way through your billing month - you'll receive a part month charge on your next bill (for the days the channels or packages were added during the previous month). VodafoneTV standalone is prepaid, so you will receive the part month charge when you add the channel or package.

Unsubscribing from a channel or package - you can continue to view the channel or package until the end of your billing month.

Please note: This option is only available if your VodafoneTV service is not charged monthly to your Vodafone bill.

Sky
  1. Log in to http://www.vtv.nz
  2. Click the TV Services tab
    The TV Servies screen appears
  3. Click Add more
    You will see that SKY Starter is already selected as this is a required package for all Sky channels
  4. Scroll down to either the Choose a package or Choose a channel section and click Select next to the package/channel you want to add
    If you want to see what channels are available in each package, click View included channels
    The Select button will turn green under the package/channel you have selected to add
  5. Click Checkout
  6. Click Checkout
  7. Enter your credit card details and click Confirm Payment

After clicking Confirm Payment, a message appear to confirm that you are all done:

Remove a channel

Please note: This option is only available if your VodafoneTV service is not charged monthly to your Vodafone bill.

  1. Log in to www.vtv.nz
  2. Click the TV Services
  3. Find the package you want to remove and click Remove subscription
    The Package removal popup appears
  4. Click Confirm
    The SKY subscription to the channel or package you have removed will end on the billing anniversary date

After cancelling your subscription, you'll be able to see how many days remain before the subscription is removed from your account.

If you change your mind and want to re-add the channel, click Renew and your bill will not change.

From tomorrow, SKY TV will split its SKY Basic package into two parts – SKY Starter and SKY entertainment. It will also split the cost into two parts, so a customer can opt for the SKY Starter package with fewer channels as a starting point for their SKY subscription.

Until then, Vodafone will continue to offer the traditional SKY Basic package - which is a combination of the SKY Starter and SKY Entertainment packages. Sky Basic includes all the channels form each package at a price that is the same as SKY’s new pricing for those products.

Vodafone will also be offering these new SKY TV packages as part of its innovative fibre and FibreX based Vodafone TV service.
